Today, I’m here to clear up some confusion about two common thyroid disorders; Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism. What I’ve been hearing from the many people I work with as well as other healthcare practitioners is frustrating to say the least. Unfortunately, a lot of you are struggling with this so if you're listening to this today, you probably have some issues with your thyroid and that's why you're here in the first place. I want to describe to you some issues with hypothyroidism. First of all, it's really hard to get diagnosed because with hypothyroidism, there's just a broad, broad range of normal for thyroid hormone when they test your levels and usually testing is part of the problem. But the symptoms with hypothyroidism can be many, it can include fatigue, that is the classic one, but we can see fatigue and a lot of conditions and a lot of, you know, when you're even when you're just feeling sick for an acute situation, you are feeling fatigued so that's not always the telltale sign. If it's chronic and lasts for a long long time, which is part of the definition of chronic but if it happens constantly in its extreme fatigue, that is a very good sign that you have a thyroid condition.
